300 new green energy jobs for Wales - Kirsty Williams comment

Welsh Liberal Democrat Enterprise, Innovation and Networks spokesperson, Kirsty Williams, has welcomed the announcement that a company is to begin producing revolutionary solar energy equipment in Cardiff.
G24i plans to employ at least 300 people over the next three years at the Wentloog Corporate Park, producing a solar energy product which will be more like plastic foil or film than traditional glass panels.
Ms Williams said: "I am delighted that G24i has decided to invest in Wales, and hope this is just the beginning of Wales' transformation into a clean, green country. I want to see Wales at the forefront of the green revolution, for the sake of the planet, yes, but also making the most of the economic opportunities this new sector has to offer.
"Wales' natural resources for tidal power, offshore wind, geothermal and biomass give us a massive advantage, which we cannot afford to waste. G24i is setting a wonderful example to other companies, who I hope will not be far behind them in coming to Wales and developing products which have the power to transform our lives, as well as the Welsh economy."
Notes:
§ G24i plans to invest £60m in Wales, the largest new investment in the country since devolution.
§ The product, for which G24i has bought the licence, can be made into small patches for use on clothing or products like MP3 players, or into much larger surface areas up to the size of a roof top. It has the potential to generate more output than conventional solar panels.
