Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, Kirsty Williams, was joined by former Liberal Democrat Leader Charles Kennedy in Brecon on Saturday, to campaign against the closure of local post offices.
The local AM was collecting signatures to send to Tony Blair, to show people's anger at Labour's lack of support for the post office network.
Ms Williams said: "It was lovely to have Charles with us in Brecon, lending his support to this most important campaign to save our post offices. It was clear from the people who stopped to talk to us that this is an issue they care very strongly about, and I will be doing all I can to stand up for post offices across the constituency."
Notes:
· Charles Kennedy was visiting Brecon as part of a two-day tour of Wales, visiting all five electoral regions. He joined Ms Williams and local Welsh Liberal Democrat supporters in Bethel Square in Brecon to campaign against post office closures, before speaking at a buffet held for local Welsh Liberal Democrat members.
