Welsh Liberal Democrat AM for Brecon and Radnorshire, Kirsty Williams, is urging projects in her constituency to consider entering this year's British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) Awards.
Their Awards for Community Inspired Regeneration aim to acknowledge the contribution of local people in driving forward grassroots regeneration. Projects of all types and sizes can be considered - from small support groups to large physical build schemes.
Ms Williams said: "I would be happy to support any group in the constituency that was considering going forward for these awards. Local projects of this nature can make such a big difference to community spirit and quality of life, and the idea of a scheme from our area being recognised in this way is very exciting."
Notes:
The BURA Awards for Community Inspired Regeneration are divided into several categories, and projects applying can be concerned with any aspect of regeneration - environmental, social, educational or physical. Further information can be obtained from their website - www.firsthand.bura.org.uk - and the closing date for nominations is August 3rd.
