Commenting on the "soon to be published" Welsh Language LCO, Kirsty Williams, leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats said:
"Here we are 18 months and two Plaid Cymru Ministers later, is seems that the Secretary of State and the Labour-Plaid government are going to publish a half-baked proposal to bring the powers over the Welsh language to Wales. This is no way to treat such an important piece of legislation.
"It seems that there are still major unresolved issues surrounding this legislation and a highly technical public spat between the Cardiff and Westminster will take place which will do little to advance to cause of devolution.
"After their failure to fund a Welsh language newspaper, failure to give equal status to the Welsh language in school travel provision, this is yet another failure from this Labour-Plaid government to protect and promote one of Wales' languages."
