Brecon & Radnorshire's MP, Roger Williams, and AM Kirsty Williams have expressed their delight at the news that Newbridge-on-Wye Post Office in Radnorshire has won the Wales award in the 'Customer Heroes' category of the 2009 People's Post Office Awards. It will now go forward to the national final on the 21st May.
Commenting on the news, Roger Williams said:
" I am so pleased that one of our village Post Offices has won this prestigious accolade and warmest congratulations are due to the sub-Post Mistress there, Mrs. Sarah Mason, for her achievement, which is deserved recognition for her efforts and the service she provides her customers. It is so good to hear a bit of good news about Post Offices after the difficulties and heartache of the recent Post Office closure programme and further recent news about Post Office closures elsewhere in Radnorshire."
Kirsty Williams added:
" This award shows that village post offices remain a vital part of our rural communities and provide a first-class and wide-range of services to the people who live in them. I urge everyone to continue to support their local Post Offices to ensure that Post Offices like the one in Newbridge-on-Wye can go on providing those services long in to the future."
