Kirsty Williams AM for Brecon and Radnorshire has welcomed the news that business support for Mid Wales businesses will finally be reinstated in October.
In April of this year the flexible support for business regional centre service was launched. Shockingly a dispute over staffing arrangements meant that the service was not brought into place in Mid Wales, leaving the vast region without business support.
Kirsty Williams said: "Mid Wales has been left without business support for some 7 months. During a time of recession and in an area where small businesses are the backbone of the local economy this is simply unacceptable and is symptomatic of the Welsh Government's wider inadequate action to truly help Welsh families through the downturn.
"I am pleased that the long and drawn-out procurement process has finally come to an end and I very much hope that the service will be up and running as immediately as possible, to ensure that our businesses receive the support they so desperately need."
