Kirsty Williams AM for Brecon and Radnorshire has called upon the Deputy First Minster for Transport to take urgent action to tackle safety on the A483 trunk road in Howey, Powys.
Kirsty Williams said: "The Howey community have been campaigning for over 10 years for action to address road safety on this stretch of the A483.
"Since the village primary school was closed this issue has become even more important as young children now have to cross the dangerous trunk road in order to reach the school bus stop. Pensioners are also put at risk when crossing the road to catch the bus, as cars drive past at excessive speeds.
"I welcome the Minister's agreement today to look at road improvements or a lowering of speed limit along this stretch and I shall be watching closely to ensure that this promise is followed through."
