Kirsty Williams, Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire has welcomed news from Health Minister Edwina Hart that finally a business case has been submitted to Welsh Assembly Government officials regarding the construction of an Integrated Health and Social Care Centre in Builth Wells.
In a response to a letter from Kirsty the Minister revealed that her officials would examine the case in detail before submitting it to the her for approval. In the same letter the Health Minister said that a meeting had been held with Powys Local Health Board in early August to try to progress the proposals as quickly as possible.
Kirsty said: "Whilst I welcome the news that there is some movement on progressing the Health and Social Care Centre, I find it incredible that we were discussing this very issue for at least the last four years. The Labour-Plaid Administration must move more quickly to ensure that local people have access to Health and Social Care services in a modern, fit for purpose building."
