Kirsty criticises Local Health Board over Backlog Maintenance3.12.00pm GMT Thu 14th Jan 2010 Kirsty Williams AM for Brecon and Radnorshire and Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats has criticised Powys LHB following the publishing of a report that reveals Ystradgynlais Hospital has over £1.5 million of backlog maintenance that is classed as "high risk" or "significant risk". An NHS Wales Estates report for 2008-2009 showed that whilst some improvements were made across the Powys LHB area, Ystradgynlais Hospital now accounts for approximately 62% of the high or significant risk backlog maintenance for the whole of Powys Local Health Board. Kirsty Williams said: "Whilst I welcome the slight reduction in the total LHB backlog maintenance costs, the figures for Ystradgynlais Hospital are shocking. I will be writing to the Chief Executive of the Local Health Board to demand that action is taken to address this backlog".
